To ensure that safety is a living part of our daily operations, the management systems at all of our production facilities are certified to ISO 45001, an internationally accepted standard for occupational health and safety management systems. We also apply the Mining Association of Canada’s (MAC) Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Safety and Health protocol to assess and measure our performance. Regular monitoring, self-assessments and tri-annual third-party verifications ensure our operations remain in compliance with TSM standards and protocols throughout the life of the operation.
We are building a culture dedicated to zero harm. This means ensuring that everyone who works at our sites has the knowledge, skills and equipment to work safely, and that our leaders empower their teams and actively encourage them to speak up, especially when they have concerns. Initiatives – such as the supervisor mentor program in Manitoba – aim to support supervisors in effectively engaging with their teams so that everyone understands the risks associated with tasks and the work environment.
Ultimately, our goal is zero harm – with no fatalities and no injuries.
